For over 15 years, Earthdance, The annual “Global Festival for Peace”, has united dancefloors across the world in support of world peace and unity. What began in 1997 with 18 cities, has now expanded to over 350 locations in 65 countries. Representing the spirit of “act local, think global” the Earthdance international community has supported thousands of local charities worldwide including helping build an orphanage in Eastern Tibet. This year, Earthdance affiliated events will take place in over 350 locations on the weekend of Sept. 23-24-25. The hub event, hosted by Earthdance Founder Chris Deckker, will take place at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, moving from its past home in Mendocino County.

“We are totally excited by the new location” says Deckker. “We now have the opportunity to take the message of peace closer to the city and reach many more people. The venue is totally gorgeous, with spacious meadow camping, plenty of trees and wide open lawns, 3 indoor late night venues, DJ pool parties and more. Many families with kids are also excited as 6 Flags, located just across the road, will be offering super discounted tickets to all Earthdance attendees so they can explore the park and ride the roller coasters. Another exciting addition is an art promenade of visionary Burning Man sculptors, with a special “Burning Women” ritual performance on Saturday night. A much larger yoga area will also be included, with a special “Yoga For Peace” class on Saturday with 1000 yogis synchronizing a yoga class with the global prayer for peace.

With 6 stages of entertainment, 3 indoor late night venues and over 70 artists, the music line up is epic, uniting all genres. Acts include Ziggy Marley, Brett Dennen, Ghostland Observatory, Dumpstaphunk, Beats Antique, Balkan Beat Box, Les Nubians, Tipper, Gaudi and many more.

Other highlights include an expanded kids village, workshops and speakers forum, healing village, organic food court and the “elders wisdom council” featuring the first nation elders from many traditions.
