Since the early 90s, I have been an entrepreneur running businesses. I studied Urban Planning and Environmental Studies at University of Waterloo and was bitten by the geographic information systems bug, focussing on environmental issues and finding ways to use maps for analysis. Over the past decade and a half, I have worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers on land remediation, built a company called Lasoo that provided high-speed map-based local searching that was later sold to Yahoo, worked with the IUCN Species Survival Commission on developing an online verion of the IUCN Redlist, worked with Natural Resources Canada's Pacific Forestry Center in developing an enterprise Carbon Accounting system for tracking CO2, and built a successful environmental consulting services company (www.hgn.ca) with a great team working on things we love to do.

I live with my family (lovely wife and three awesome children) in Ottawa, Canada. If I am not working, I am spending time with family and friends. My passions in life are music, cars, the environment, sports, and helping others.

PickupPal is in many ways the best venture of my entire career. I feel that if like-minded people can come together and help each other out, we can make a difference in reducing the amount of CO2 and other pollutants we send into the atmosphere that choke our cities and ruin this planet.
